This weekend, Alex and I were very pleased to hear that our nine-year-old son, Ted, had written his very first blog! Inspired by his blogging parents, Ted decided that he would like to join the blogging world. There was, however, one glitch in his plan. He had no place to upload his story. So, with immense pride, I promised to display Ted's first ever blog on my site. With luck, we will soon be able to get him his own space. In the meantime, without further ado, I would like to introduce you to: Ted Carrick!
Four years ago my family and I got a Golden Retriever. I was the one who named her Daisy. Whenever someone would approach me and my brother, or me and my Dad when we were walking the dog, they would ask, “Is this dog a Golden Retriever?”
That’s when I learned about Golden Relievers. One night I asked my family, “Why does everyone call our dog a Golden Reliever instead of just a dog?” Then there was a roar of laughter from my family. I never knew why they were laughing.
One day my brother told me what it meant… relieving meant “relieving from needing to go to the washroom”. Now that I know what it means, I shall only use the word “relieve” in washroom jokes.

This is a great little blog post. And it's always great to be able to laugh at yourself. Believe me, even us adults say funny things sometimes!
Keep on writing, Ted! You never know, one day you might become the next great novelist. Maybe you'll write a story about a "Golden Reliever" that's actually an alien cyborg from outerspace. :)
